Αντικείμενο: Only a small percentage of justice professionals are trained abroad their respective jurisdictions. A significant obstacle for participation to transnational trainings, such as those implemented by the EJTN, is the language barrier. This leads to the repeat participation of the same persons in multiple events, muddying the results of the European Judicial Training Strategy (double counting).
The project aims to train 120 judges and prosecutors with so far limited participation in transnational trainings due to language barriers, on procedural rights for suspects and accused. The training will focus on 3 MS with noted low participation in EU law transnational trainings. The approach is through targeted, participatorily-designed training, and the use of interactive and experiential learning methodologies. The project complements the trainings provided by the EJTN in the area of procedural rights for suspects and accused persons in criminal proceedings by a) implementing an in-depth assessment of specific training needs in the participating MS, b) creating tailored training curricula and materials in multiple national languages, c) increasing the number of judges and prosecutors who receive continuous training in EU law in countries with low participation scores, through the elimination of language barriers, using simultaneous interpretation, and the engagement of national networks, and d) reinforcing initial training through dedicated seminars for trainee judges and prosecutors with the direct engagement and participation of national judicial academies.
